===Project goals===
The goal of this project is to redesign, transform and upgrade the SOCR Hyperbolic [http://socr.ucla.edu/SOCR_HT_ResourceViewer.html  Tree] and [http://socr.ucla.edu/SOCR_HW_Viewer.html Wheel] Resource Navigators from Java to a modern platform- and browser-independent [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML5 HTML5]/[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JavaScript JavaScript] framework.

===Project Description===
* Review and play with the SOCR Hyperbolic [http://socr.ucla.edu/SOCR_HT_ResourceViewer.html Tree] and [http://socr.ucla.edu/SOCR_HW_Viewer.html Wheel] Resource Navigators.
* Look at previously developed [http://socr.ucla.edu/htmls/HTML5/ SOCR HTML5 webapps].
* Review the [http://d3js.org/ D3 framework].
* Review the various SOCR hyperbolic Tree/Wheel demos (e.g., [http://socr.ucla.edu/SOCR_HT_ResourceViewer.html SOCR Tree], [http://socr.ucla.edu/test/NIF_HT_ResourceViewer.html NIF], [http://socr.ucla.edu/test/NSF_HT_ResourceViewer.html NSF], [http://socr.ucla.edu/test/MathGenealogy_HT_ResourceViewer.html Math Genealogy], [http://www.socr.ucla.edu/NISER/NISER_HT_ResourceViewer.html NISER]).

===Approach===
* Use the following (current) XML format/syntax/examples as (graph, node/edge) input data (e.g., [http://socr.ucla.edu/SOCR_HyperTree.xml SOCR Resources XML], [http://socr.ucla.edu/test/NSF_TR_Resources.xml NSF], [http://socr.ucla.edu/test/NIF_TR_Resources.xml NIF], [http://socr.ucla.edu/test/MathGenealogy_SOCR_April26_2007.xml Math Genealogy], [http://www.socr.ucla.edu/NISER/NISER_HyperTree.xml NISER], [http://socr.ucla.edu/SOCR_HyperTree.json SOCR JSON])
* Use [http://www.jasondavies.com/coffee-wheel/ this D3 example]. Modify the input data format to consume our XML structure and test with some of the SOCR examples above.
