- June 2008, The Statistical Moments Newsletter profiled SOCR faculty, summarized SOCR accomplishments, awards and publications in its Summer 2008 edition.
- May 2008, The SOCR Co-PI, Dr. Nicolas Christou, was awarded the prestigious Brian P. Copenhaver Award for Innovation in Teaching with Technology. More information about this event and Nicolas' contributions is available here. Also online are Nicolas Christou's (video-stream) Interview and an UCLA Today article summarising his contributions.

- Dec. 07, 2007, Dr. Dinov was interviewed and quoted in An article in the Wall Street Journal about a paper by Leif Nelson (NYU) and Joseph Simmons (Yale) entitled Moniker Maladies: When Names Sabotage Success. In this article the authors present experimental designs and data to support hypotheses that unconscious behaviour can insidiously undermine conscious pursuits.
