SOCR Project - SOCR HTML5 Project
Project goals
The goal of this project is to redesign, transform and upgrade some of the SOCR Applets from Java to platform- and browser-independent HTML5 and JavaScript framework.
Examples
The list below contains examples of interesting HTML5 web-apps and sims that we need to develop analogues for existing SOCR Java-based charts, analysis and experiments applets.
- Provide a new HTML5/JavaScript redesign of the SOCR Motion Charts (see motion charts activities) using D3. This would include making smooth transformation (see examples here) and implementing some of the new SOCR motion charts proposed in the appendix of this manuscript. You can use Google API (http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/overview.html). All code must be HTML5 compliant and only include lightweight open-source libraries.
- This example demonstrates a pair of analogous Java-applet-based and HTML5/JavaScript-based web-apps for Normal Distribution Simulation
- See the Java-based Distirbutome Navigator and the corresponding HTML5/JavaScript Distributome Navigator
- ProtoVis and D3 provide excellent examples and source code for JavaScript/HTML5 graphing tools
